International SOS Clinic has provided medical services for Dulwich for the past four years. This service includes clinic set-up, protocols and procedures, day-to-day student care and expatriate medical oversight both through SOS Global Medical Services and the SOS Alarm Centre.

Our SOS nurses, Leila Gu & Joey Chen, are based at the Legend Garden Campus Clinic, and they also manage the administrative work of our Dulwich school nurse, Helen Wang, based at the River Garden Campus. Our third SOS nurse, Jiang Wei Li is based at Riviera Main Campus Clinic.

Our school nurses provide the following services:

  • Emergency first aid for students (cuts, scrapes, falls, rest and recuperation etc)
  • Primary nursing care (in accordance with relevant local laws)
  • Assistance with transfer / referral to appropriate outside clinics for anything more complicated than basic first aid.
  • Preventative medical services (advice and brochures can be available for students on lifestyle issues, public health information etc
  • First aid briefing to bus monitors, Ayi’s and other Chinese staff

First Aid Kits
Basic first aid kits are provided for:
Early Years & Junior School classrooms, Campus Offices, PE Offices, Science Labs, D&T Workshop, Art Centre and School Buses.

First Aid Trained Staff
SOS First Aid Training, conducted by an expatriate doctor or paramedic is delivered to 48 staff throughout the school on an annual basis.  This training is valid for two years.  We also provide training for our teaching assistants and bus monitors held by our school nurses with SOS support.

Medical Forms
The school nurses keep student’s medical files.  New students are asked to complete and submit a medical form to the campus administrator on the first day of school.

Clinic Visits
All visits to the clinic are recorded in the clinic logbook.

SOS Annual Student Health Checks
Annual student health checks are carried out during the autumn term and the Campus Administrator will send out details for sign up and schedules.  These are very simple health checks, supported by the SOS clinic, checking height, weight, bmi and basic vision.  On completion, a report is issued to parents.

Field Trip Support
SOS Alarm Centre offers medical emergency field trip support to our students and staff.

School Medical Policy
The school places exceptional importance on the health of our school children, and it is the responsibility of all members of the school community, parents and teachers alike, to keep the children healthy.  If we find that a child has an illness or condition that will affect the health of his/her classmates, we will notify the parents to take the child home from school immediately.

Please see the parent handbook for full details.
